Rocket Scientists to Blast Off Again at ProgStock 2019!

ProgStock will return in 2019 to the Union County Performing Arts Center (UCPAC) Mainstage Theater in Rahway, NJ on Columbus Day Weekend (October 11-13, 2019). Check here often for more announcements!

We are excited to announce the long-awaited return of Rocket Scientists to the stage…and it’s happening at ProgStock 2019! Rocket Scientists was formed in the late 1980s by keyboardist Erik Norlander and vocalist/guitarist Mark McCrite. The two released their first CD, Earthbound, in 1993 joined by then-session bassist Don Schiff. Schiff quickly became a part of the band for their second release in 1995, Brutal Architecture, and the three toured in the US and Europe in 1997 culminating in the live CD, Earth Below and Sky Above: Live in Europe and America. In 1999, they released Oblivion Days, raising the bar on already high expectations.

At the turn of the century, Norlander, Schiff and McCrite all worked on solo projects in addition to backing symphonic rock vocal icon Lana Lane on several tours around the world. After an eight year hiatus, Rocket Scientists released its fourth studio album Revolution Road in 2006 to high accolades from the press and fans worldwide. In January 2008, they released their first box set entitled Looking Backward.

Rocket Scientists toured internationally in 2007-2009 to support the Revolution Road and Looking Backward releases performing at RoSFest, 3 Rivers Prog Festival, Bay Area Rock Fest, Baja Prog (MX) and Rotherham Rocks (UK) in addition to a long string of club dates. Their latest releases are Refuel, a 12-song full-length album mixing vocal and instrumental tracks, and Supernatural Highways, a 30-minute all-instrumental Digipak EP.

ProgStock 2019 is where the 10-year dry-spell of Rocket Scientists playing live comes to an end. You can find more information about the band and view some past performances on their Facebook page (Rocket Scientists @ Facebook) and YouTube channel (Rocket Scientists @ YouTube).

Funk-Rock-Fusion Legends Brand X to Headline ProgStock 2019

Triumphantly returning for a third straight year to Rahway, NJ, ProgStock 2019 hits the Union County Performing Arts Center (UCPAC) Mainstage Theater on Columbus Day Weekend (October 11-13, 2019). More announcements are coming soon!

We are thrilled to announce that the Saturday headliner of ProgStock 2019 will be funk-rock-fusion legends Brand X! With founders John Goodsall (guitar) and Percy Jones (bass) still at the helm, they’ve reached some new peaks with keyboardist Chris Clark, percussionist Scott Weinberger, and drummer Kenny Grohowski, each bringing their own unique artistry to make Brand X such a unique live act.

Brand X finished off 2018 with a bang, touring from the Mid-West to the North-East (USA), releasing a new live DVD edited and mixed by Stephen W. Tayler (Real World Studios), and releasing a new live album as well, culled from their headlining performance on the opening night of RoSFest 2018. They will delight audiences again in 2019 on Cruise to the Edge with Yes, February 4-9, 2019, and at ProgStock 2019 on October 12, 2019.

Founding member/guitarist John Goodsall: “Every tour we add some new songs and change some things around for a fresh new show. Some of these songs we haven’t played in ages – and some never before at all – and now we’re starting to work on writing some new material as well for a forthcoming album.”

“The band are playing exceptionally well live, so we’ve recorded a new live DVD and a new live album to document it.” says manager Norman Bedford. “They’re breathing new life into some timeless music in a way I’ve rarely seen – every night on stage they do something differently, and it’s all very exciting to watch.”

A great opportunity to see Brand X is coming this October. Learn about their legendary 45-year history and their plans for the future on their Facebook page: Official Brand X
