Long time bassist Colin Edwin and touring guitarist John Wesley performed their last concert with Porcupine Tree at the Royal Albert Hall in London in October of 2010. In the Autumn of 2026, Edwin and Wesley’s new project Voyage 35 sees them take to the stage again to deliver new interpretations of Porcupine Tree’s early catalogue. Whilst acknowledging the past, ex Porcupine Tree members Colin Edwin and John Wesley are intent on driving the music firmly toward the future.
Colin Edwin: “I know there is a lot of love out there for the early Porcupine Tree material, and many people have expressed a desire to hear it again. Most of this music kind of fell by the wayside as the band moved on, and it feels right to revisit things again with a fresh approach and new musical talent”
John Wesley: “I realized deep inside that I really missed playing that music, so an opportunity to go out with Colin and an amazing set of musicians to perform music I deeply cared about was not something I was going to miss. Bringing that music to fans that care about it as I do will be a mutual pleasure”
Colin Edwin and John Wesley’s Voyage 35’s performance will not only feature Porcupine Trees’ original lightshow Fruit Salad Lights, but will also focus exclusively on material which has, for the most part, not been performed live since 1997’s Coma Divine live album that included many fan favorites including ‘Radioactive Toy’, ‘Up the Downstair’, ‘Signify’, and ‘Moonloop’. Edwin and Wesley will be digging into Porcupine Tree’s catalogue spanning the Delerium and Snapper years – from the first album release, On The Sunday of Life (1992) through to the Lightbulb Sun album (2000) revisiting classics such as ‘Voyage 34’ and ‘Fadeaway’ along with tracks that were rarely performed live.
The band aims to capture the true spirit of the psychedelic, space rock and progressive adventure, performing music that has mostly been unheard in a live environment for over two decades. Concentrating on the epic, spacious, psychedelic and unashamedly progressive sound of Porcupine Tree’s early material, Colin Edwin and John Wesley’s Voyage 35 will be adding an improvised flavor of their own.
On April 3, 2026, the band released “The Nostalgia Factory“— a unique cover version of a standout track from that debut album. The reimagined eight minute version of the song pays homage to Porcupine Tree’s formative era, where the spirits of ’60s and ’70s space rock collided to create an intoxicating, psychedelic symphony. When asked what he thought of his bandmates reviving this material, Steven Wilson responded, “Oh, I think them playing a whole repertoire of that material sounds like great fun!” In fact, he played “The Nostalgia Factory” on his SiriusXM radio channel on release day!
